Only 215 Mid-Range rifles were manufactured in 1877 to 1880. This example has the desirable wood panels on the sides of the action, a windage adjustable spirit level globe front sight, the Old Reliable marking (no border) and Bridgeport address, notch and folding ladder rear sight, tang mid-range Vernier peep sight, plain trigger, checkered schnabel forearm and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and checkered shotgun buttplate. Matching serial numbers are found on the bottom of the barrel, the forearm, and ahead of the trigger.

Very fine with 90% plus original blue finish, light spotting, vibrant patterns of original case colors, mottled gray and brown patina on the balance, and some minor marks. The wood is fine and has crisp checkering, some small dings at the edges, strong refreshed oil finish, a spliced repair visible at the toe, and some light scratches. Mechanically excellent.
