This pre-war target rifle has "ORIGINAL SYSTEM AYDT" inlaid in gold on the top of the action and scrollwork, bands, and a flag boy on the breech section of the barrel in silver colored inlay; adjustable post front sight with ramp and wings, quarter rib dovetail section for rear sight mounting with 1-3 position markings, standard proof and bore markings, elaborate Germanic leafy engraving on the receiver, lever, and buttplate; a replacement correct style rear tang peep sight, two men in traditional attire on the right side of the action, cupid and a heart struck by an arrow among the leaf patterns on the left side of the action, double set triggers, a smooth Schnabel tip forearm, and a checkered Tyrolean buttstock with single hook buttplate and a thumb rest.

Very fine with 90% plus original blue finish, bright gold inlay, brown patina on the casehardened components along with traces of original case colors, minor edge wear, and scattered minor marks and scratches. The wood is fine with a scattered scrapes, chipping at the edge of the thumb rest, crisp checkering, and minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
