Description:

The caliber designation and overall configuration suggests this is a Hunter's Rifle with special order double set triggers rather than a Business Rifle. Only 451 Hunters' Rifles were manufactured at Bridgeport. It features a large blade front sight, "Old Reliable" and the Bridgeport address ahead of the Lawrence patent rear sight, "CAL 45" on top at the breech, "Business 45" on the left breech, "9533" on the underside of the lock, matching serial numbers on the barrel, forearm, action, and trigger plate; standard 1869 patent on the left side of the action, and smooth stock and forearm.

Rating Definition:

Very good with 70% of the original blue finish remaining on the barrel, 40% of the original case colors on the action and remaining parts, strong niter blue on the breech, and some minor oxidation. The forearm is fine and has nicks, scratches, and small dings. The buttstock has two screws securing the break in the wrist, a large chip absent below the lock, chipping around the lock inlet, and small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
