Manufactured in 1868. The top barrel flat has the pointing hand motif two-line, two block patent/address marking with Maltese crosses. The cylinder is roll engraved with the Cabin and Indian scene and is marked "COLT'S PATENT/No. 12749." Matching numbers are found on the butt, barrel and cylinder. The partitioned case contains lead balls, a case key, a Eley cap tin, a brass "COLTS/PATENT" marked two-cavity bullet mold and a double face eagle powder flask.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 30% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. Most of the cylinder scene remains. Traces of original case colors remain on the loading lever and hammer. The grip is also fine with a missing minor chip near the bottom (right side) and some minor handing marks with most of the original varnish remaining. Mechanically fine. The relined case is fair showing some minor handling/storage marks, a cracked bottom and high spot wear on the lining.
