Description:

Manufactured in 1855. Standard Colt London markings with "crown/letter" proofs. Matching numbers on the barrel, frame, iron grip straps, cylinder, loading lever, arbor pin and wedge. Comes with a Colt marked two-cavity bullet mold and plain flask. According to the consignor, this grouping once belonged to Caselton Roscoe of Vermilion, Ohio. Research has found a Caselton Roscoe who served in Company K., 67th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War for three years and nine months. (We have no documentation to confirm this information.)

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver has a mixture of smooth brown and mottled gray patinas with the barrel retaining heavy amounts of original blue finish in and around the protected areas. Much of the cylinder scene remains. The revarnished grip is good showing high edge wear, a large dent and numerous scattered dings. Mechanically excellent.
