Description:

Frame manufactured in 1863. The barrel has the one-line New York address, the frame has "COLTS/PATENT," and the cylinder has the stagecoach holdup scene. Matching numbers are found on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, cylinder and arbor pin. The replacement barrel is un-serialized, and the loading lever has the number "21." The partitioned lid contains a cap tin, single face eagle powder flask, "COLTS/PATENT" marked two-cavity bullet mold, combination tool and package of combustible envelope cartridges (one round missing).

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 70% bright original high polish blue finish thinning to a brown. The refinished cylinder retains most of the dull blue finish and half of the scene. The hammer, frame and loading lever retain 95% original case colors. The grip straps retain 95% aged darkened original silver plating. The grip is also fine with a series of nicks near the bottom and some minor handling marks. Most of the varnish remains. Mechanically excellent. The relined case is good showing loose partition walls, some high spot wear and a mis-matched piece of material used on the interior of the lid.
