Description:

Manufactured in 1861, the first year of production. The barrel has the one-line New York U.S. American address on top, the frame has "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side, a cylinder flute has the patent date, and the trigger guard has a small letter "L" on the left side. Matching numbers are found on the frame, barrel, trigger guard, back strap, arbor pin and wedge.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel and cylinder retain 75% bright original high polished blue finish showing thinning to gray. The hammer, frame and loading lever have refinished case colors. The grip straps retain 80% original silver plating beginning to age. Initials are inscribed on the butt. The refinished grip is fine showing a few minor handling marks. The cylinder does not rotate when the action is cycled.
