The date "1902" is stamped on the right side of the frame between the edge of the grip and the trigger guard. The Ordnance sub-inspector's initials "R.A.C." are stamped on the left side of the trigger guard bow and on the rear face of the cylinder. Small "P" proofmarks are stamped on the underside of the barrel and on the rear face of the cylinder. The barrel has the one-line address on top and "45 COLT" on the left side. A small circled Rampant Colt is on the left side of the frame. The serial number is stamped in two-lines on the butt in front of the lanyard loop, and the partial serial number is stamped on the rear cylinder face and loading gate.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine. The revolver retains 85% plus original high polish blue finish. The frame has several patches of light pitting near the top strap. There is light pitting along the length of the ejector housing. The cylinder retains 95% original blue finish. The trigger and top of the hammer have 80% plus of the fire blue finish. The sides of the hammer have spots of age discoloration with some light pitting on the right side. The grips are very good and show only light handling wear. Mechanically excellent. This is an extremely fine example of a Colt U.S. Model 1902 DA revolver.
