Description:

The revolver has standard S&W markings with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the barrel underside and correct military inspection and proofmarks. Matching serial numbers are found on the butt, barrel, cylinder and right grip panel. The assembly number "44643" is stamped on the yoke and crane. Provenance: Chad Gripp collection.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus. The revolver retains over 99% original blue finish showing a faint cylinder drag line. 99% plus original case colors are present on the hammer and trigger. The grips are excellent with a slight surface chip near the bottom (left panel) and a few mild handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Do not miss the opportunity to acquire one of the finest U.S. S&W Model 1917 revolvers we have ever sold.
