Also known as the Model 1926 Hand Ejector Pre-War, the .44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model "Wolf & Klar" double action revolver was manufactured from 1926 to 1941. This model was usually available on special order only, not catalogued until 1940 and had a shrouded extractor barrel as requested by the Fort Worth, Texas dealer Wolf & Klar. This revolver has a rare 4 inch barrel. The accompanying factory letter states the revolver was part of a shipment of 20 revolvers featuring 4 inch barrel, and nickel finish. These guns were shipped on December 27, 1929, and delivered to Wolf & Klar, Fort Worth, TX. The revolver has standard S&W markings and blade and frame groove sights. Matching serial number found on the butt, ejector shroud, rear cylinder face and right grip panel. The assembly number "86285" is stamped on the yoke and crane. Comes with the original factory box numbered to the gun and the USRA 20 yard bull's eye. The box end label was factory stamped with the correct barrel length and "1926." Excellent plus. The revolver retains over 99% original nickel finish showing a light cylinder drag line. 99% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are near new with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair showing split corners/edges, wear and repairs. Most of the end label remains. Truly an exceptional, near new example of a factory documented boxed .44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model "Wolf & Klar" revolver that would be a fabulous addition to a pre-war S&W collection.
