Offered here is a rare example of the Model 1950 Army revolver featuring the rare model marking. It is one of approximately 178 manufactured with the model marking on the right side of the barrel: "45 CAL. MODEL 1950." Otherwise, the revolver has standard S&W markings and an importer marking on the butt. It was shipped in May 1952 and features fixed sights, Magna grips, matching serial numbers on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder and barrel and matching assembly numbers on the yoke and crane. Comes with an un-numbered factory gold box for the Model 1950 Army revolver with correct finish and barrel length listed on the short ends.

Excellent plus. The revolver retains over 99% original mint blue finish showing only faint traces of a cylinder drag line. 99% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are near new sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine showing some scattered wear.
