This was the factory kept example of the "Government Model Semi-Automatic Pistol." Accompanied by a factory letter which confirms its configuration: 5" barrel, parkerized finish and checkered plastic grips. The letter also states "Furnished with internal factory receipt for display/show to customers in 'Admin. Building' signed by Colt Vice President Michael Reissig and dated 23 Mar. 01." Shipped to Greg Martin Auctions, 660 Third Street, Suite 100, San Francisco, California on October 16, 2008. The letter further states "subject pistol was a sample and display pistol of new issue kept by the Colt factory". Complete with original blue box with hand written label of Model and serial number. Near mint as factory displayed. The box is excellent. The pistol is missing the retention plate, firing pin and extractor and was also never furnished with a magazine.
