Description:

Single bead sight with standard barrel markings, wedges of light scroll engraving just forward of the breech, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, and full/full chokes. Casehardened receiver with engraved bird scenes on the sides, a hunting dog on the underside, and fine detailed scroll on the balance. With dual triggers, and tang mounted automatic thumb safety. Checkered splinter forearm and buttstock with a serrated hard rubber buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .727/.727 inch; minimum wall thickness .036/.036 inch; drop at comb 1 3/8 inches; drop at heel 2 1/4 inches; length of pull 14 inches. The included letter from J.T. Callahan based on the Fox records indicates it was manufacture as a CE grade 12 gauge in the current configuration. The measurements in the letter are listed as 14 1/8 inch length of pull, 2 1/4 inch drop at heel, 7 lbs. 14 oz. weight, and pattern "R- 320, 322, L-321, 325." The gun was shipped on July 28, 1925, to Bob Smith Sporting Goods of Boston, Massachusetts.

Rating Definition:

Fine. 97% original blue finish on the barrels remain with some small nicks and handling marks. 85% plus original case colors remain on the receiver with some small areas of a light gray patina. The wood is fine as refinished with a visible repaired break at the wrist, sharp checkering, and small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent.
