Manufactured in 1948. The left rear barrel is marked "MODEL 21 - WINCHESTER/-TRADE MARK- -12 GAUGE 2 3/4". The bottom of the Winchester proof steel barrels are marked "IMP CYL" and "MOD", the barrel flats are marked with the Winchester oval proof and matching serial number. The trigger guard plate is marked "DUCK". Single steel bead sight on the matte concave solid rib with ejectors. Single trigger with selector, tang mounted automatic safety with gold "SAFE" and mounted with a nicely figured, multi-point checkered walnut beaver tail forearm and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber Winchester grip cap and checkered bare butt. Comes with a Winchester "Final Inspection Report Special Guns" which verifies that it is a "Duck Gun" and gives the bore and stock dimensions. It also states that it was equipped with new barrels on 4/28/52, with the right barrel choked improved cylinder and the left modified. An additional letter dated May 10, 1991, states that the shotgun was ordered on April 22, 1947, and completed on May 2, 1947. Length of pull is 13 7/8 inches, drop at the heel is 2 1/2 inches, drop at the comb is 1 9/16 inches and pitch is 2 3/4 inches. Bore diameter 9 inches from the breech is .729/.729 and wall thickness is 0.055/0.055.

Fine as professionally refinished overall with 99% blue finish remaining showing only light handling marks. The wood shows a small repaired crack on the rear bottom of the forearm extending from the point of the checkering to the end (1/4 of an inch long). Overall the checkering shows a few minor handling marks and very crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
