Assisted opening side lock action with fine English rose and scroll engraving on the lock plates, frame, and trigger guard. With dual triggers and tang mounted automatic thumb safety. Checkered forearm and stock with an engraved blue steel grip cap, gold initial oval, and checkered hard rubber buttplate. The barrels are replacements and have Birmingham proofs from 1963. Barrel and stock measurements and weight are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .550/.550 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .040/.040 inch; drop at comb 1 3/4 inches; drop at heel 2 5/8 inches; length of pull 13 3/4 inches; 1/4 inch cast off; 5 lbs. 15.6 oz. With a canvas covered takedown case with Purdey interior label, two-piece cleaning rod, cleaning rod heads, two nickel snap caps, and oiler bottle.

Very fine as refurbished/re-barreled with 95% of the blue finish remaining on the barrels with some light dings along the rib edge and minor handling marks. The receiver has 75% of the factory quality refinished case colors. The buttstock has been professionally repaired with the bottom of the grip replaced and two visible circular plugs. Otherwise, the checkering is crisp with just a few minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
