Description:

Originally produced in a dark green Heer standard paint finish, which is still visible on the interior, this helmet has been repainted with a tan base coat and brighter green and brown splotches, with careful masking around the Heer "eagle" shield and light sand/dirt texture; though undocumented, this tri-tone pattern is associated with the occupiers of the Normandy region of France circa D-Day. The inside rear of the skirt is marked "3272", with "NS 64" on the left and "bm(illegible)/41" on the chinstrap.

Rating Definition:

Good overall. The exterior shows a number of scratches and scuffs, both shallow ones going through to the tan coat and deeper ones revealing well aged steel, with a particularly broad exposed area on the back left quadrant and a large concentration of scuffs on top of the crown. The decal is about 90% solid, with a few scuffs and flakes. The interior shows mild spotting, with cracking and stains on the leather appropriate to age.
