Tan cotton exterior construction with a triangular Luftwaffe eagle patch over a rectangular cockade and wreath patch, with a blackened patent leather chinstrap, three buttons for the strap and (absent) neck protector, and a set of four grommeted vent holes. The interior is lined with red cloth at the top of the crown, which is marked "54/"1943" over "9/1316/0014" in black ink. While officially discontinued in 1942, the Hermann Meyer cap had its fans among the Luftwaffe, some of whom kept wearing them during action in Italy. Provenance: George Peterson.

Good overall, with some minor stains on the exterior and some light sweat marks on the interior. The back of the cap was torn or cut starting from the bottom of the band and going up into the crown, and has since been repaired.
