Description:

Manufactured 1909-1928 and patterned after the "Papa Nambu" pistol, the Baby Nambu was the semi-official officer's pistol of the Imperial Japanese Military. Developed as a home-grown alternative to imported American and European pocket-sized handguns, the Baby Nambu was sold through the military officer's union system for private purchase. Fixed sights, with the "cannonball" logo on top of the chamber, the 3-symbol Nambu nomenclature and serial number on the right side of the frame, checkered hardwood grips, and straw finished small parts. Matching numbers are present on multiple components, including the magazine, bolt components and grips. Included with the pistol is a brown leather clamshell holster with shoulder strap.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing a few patches of pitting, mild edge wear and scattered handling marks. The grips are also very fine, with some dings and flat spots. The holster is good, with the closure tab absent and scattered scuffs, cracks and stains. Mechanically excellent.
