Variations of the "Wender" system were in use in the mid-17th century on and even into the early 19th century especially in Dutch and Germanic regions. This example has Baroque style scroll engraving but no identifying markings. There are faces worked into the designs on the side plate, trigger guard, and pommel cap. A "Royal Oak" case from 1994 with a plaque reading "EARLY GERMAN DOUBLE BARREL/ROLL OVER FLINT-LOCK PISTOL/BARREL LENGTH 4 1/4 IN. .375 CAL./MAKER UNKNOWN/CIRCA 1740" and a bore rod are included.

Rating Definition:

Very good with fairly bright surfaces, some light pitting and oxidation, minor aged patina on some of the brass, and general minor marks. The stock has some small chips and scrapes. The modern custom made case has only mild storage wear.
