Manufactured in 1935, this is an example of a pre-WWII Colt Government Model National Match pistol. Fixed blade front and period replacement square notch rear sights, the two-line address and patent markings on the left side of the slide, and "NATIONAL MATCH", "COLT/AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE .45" and the Rampant Colt logo on the right side. The frame is marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL" on the right side over the serial number. With "P/ VP" on the trigger guard, wide hammer, long grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, replacement 1911 style period checkered long trigger, slide stop and thumb safety, and fully checkered grips. The replacement magazine is full blue with "L" and "C-L" stamped on the toe, and the barrel is marked "S" and "inverted P" on the lug.

Fine, with 70% plus of the original blue finish, showing a mixed gray patina on the front strap and mainspring housing, bright wear along the edges and mild handling marks overall. A shallow takedown line is forming on the frame, and some components (sights, trigger, barrel) have been replaced. The grips are good, with some minor dings and chips on the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
