Manufactured from 1970 to 1983. This pistol is nicely Class "D" scroll factory engraved. The left side of the slide is marked " COLT'S MKIV/SERIES '70/GOLD CUP NATIONAL MATCH/.45 AUTOMATIC CALIBER". The right side of the slide is marked, GOLD CUP/NATIONAL MATCH" followed by a trophy cup. The flat areas of the gun are polished with the remaining a matte finish. It features a fixed front sight, adjustable Elliason rear sight, grip safety, serrated grip straps, skeletonized adjustable trigger and spur hammer with polished sides. The magazine is blue with a matte base marked "COLT/45 AUTO". The accompanying factory letter confirms the gun's configuration, except grips which is "Not Listed", its engraving (engraver's name not listed) and that it was shipped as 1 to Sportsmans Emporium Ltd., Melrose Park, Pa. on Dec. 12, 1983. Complete with the original Colt "wood grain" box numbered to the gun, end label states ivory grips with manual.
