Description:

This rifle has traditional blade and notch sights, double set triggers, primarily German silver fittings, some light engraving on the barrel tang and border of the lock, and is inscribed "A.M. Osterman & Son+" in script on top of the barrel behind the rear sight, "45 cal." on the bottom of the barrel, and "D.E.O." on the lock (Dan. E. Osterman, the son). Includes an article/advertisement about the Osterman Estate Rifle noting that their rifles are all handmade other than the untooled barrels and a consignor note indicating it has progressive rifling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with nearly all of the original finish and some minor handling and storage type marks.
