Description:

Manufactured in the mid to late 1970s. The top of the barrel behind the rear sight is marked "S. HAWKEN ST. LOUIS," the left flat has Carl Walker's hallmark preceded by the caliber".58." Walker was the first employee of Green River Rifle Works after founder "Doc" White started the company in 1972. The absence of any other visible GRRW markings including a serial number indicates the rifle was finished outside of the shop. It has simple but well executed scroll engraving on the lock and hammer unlike the GRRW finished rifles as well. It features traditional blade and notch sights, double set triggers, and all iron furniture. The front sight is German silver with a copper base.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall with nearly all of the brown finish, some minor pits in the snail, minor dings and nicks at the edges, and light spotting/mottle patina on the muzzle. The stock has taken on a slightly green tint (chromium trioxide finish) land has light hammer wear and a few dings. Mechanically excellent.
