Measuring 29 3/4 inches overall while dismounted with a 22 3/4 inch edge, the blade shows a very strong slightly wavy hamon and very active grain, with the tang showing a deep aged color and a double-sided signature, 6 figures on the left and 7 on the right. Two sets of furniture are included, one plain hardwood set of shirasaya mounts, and a set of mores standard furniture with a gold finished two piece habaki, a four-lobed iron tsuba with gilt accents and an impressive pierced through geometric patter, gilt dragon themed hilt decoration, purple cord wrapping, and a black lacquered saya. A pair of cloth sword bags are included, as is a black lacquered two-tier display stand, a boxed set of traditional style cleaning equipment, and assorted papers related to the history and proper care of the Japanese sword. Also included is a proper set of NBTHK (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword) paperwork; while a translation was not provided, the papers are of the "Tokubetsu Hozon" (Especially Worthy of Preservation) style.

Fine, with a few tiny spots on the blade and a well-aged patina on the tang. The shirasaya scabbard is opening up at the seams, otherwise both sets of fittings are in very good condition, as is the display stand. The maintenance tools appear relatively unused, and the paperwork is solid aside from some typical creasing.
