Very good plus with 30% of the faded original blue finish on the barrel along with dark brown patina and a few patches of mild pitting, 25% of the original case colors (particularly vivid in the protected areas), minor spotting, and various marks. The wood is also very good and has small chips, numerous scrapes and bruises, and very clean, nearly as issued patch box inlet. Mechanically excellent. This is a solid representative example of a desirable Civil War Sharps New Model 1859 carbine.
