Description:

A total of 30,362 Smith carbines were purchased by the U.S. during the Civil War. Many were used after the war throughout the U.S. This Cavalry Model has the standard markings and features including the matching serial number on the receiver and barrel at the hinge.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 40% original finish overall, gray and brown patina on the balance, and some light spotting. The wood is also fine and has minor dings and scrapes and some small chips at the butt. Mechanically excellent.
