Description:

40,000 New Model 1863 Sharps carbines were manufactured for use by the Union cavalry during the Civil War. This example has the standard markings and features.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 60% original blue finish, 40% of the vibrant original case colors on the frame and hammer, dark brown patina on the balance, several deep vise marks visible on the sides of the barrel, some mild pitting and oxidation, and general minor marks and scratches. The fine wood has mild scrapes and small dents and crisp cartouches.
