Description:

It has 6-groove rifling, traces of the frame marking, "15" stamped on the buttstock and saddle bar with ring mounted on the left side. Falls into the Civil War era production serial number range (11,000-61,000) but has a 20 inch barrel instead of a 22 inch barrel. Roughly 50,000 Spencer carbines were manufactured in 1863-65 and were widely used and very popular with the Union troops.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The carbine has a dark mottled brown patina. The sanded and re-oiled wood is fair showing some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
