Description:

8,000 Second Model Maynard carbines were purchased by the U.S. government in 1863 to 1865 for use during the Civil War. Captured Maynards and the limited numbers purchased before the war were popular with Confederate troops. This example has the standard markings and features. The stock has "GWP" and "JM" cartouches.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with 30% original finish, speckled oxidation, brown patina, minor pitting, and mild edge wear. The fine stock has numerous minor scrapes and dings and crisp cartouches. Mechanically excellent.
