These early-1800s pistols are both marked "Evans" in script at the center of the locks and "Evans Cambridge" in script on the top of the barrels. They also feature Damascus barrels with dovetailed silver blade front sights, gold bands at the breeches, platinum vent liners, Birmingham proofs along with "crown/IR" and "I&R" on the bottoms, and hooked breech plugs; engraved upper tangs with notch rear sights, semi-waterproof pans, frizzen spring rollers, sliding half-cock safeties, scroll and floral engraving, horn forend caps, silver wedge escutcheons and thumb plates, and checkered wrists.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel has most of the period refinished brown, mild edge wear, some minor pits, and attractive Damascus patterns. The lock retains subtle traces of original case colors and has gray and brown patina. The silver has aged patina. Nearly all of the original blue finish remains on the ramrod entry pipe, and the trigger guard retains 60% plus original blue and has some oxidation and brown patina. The stock is very fine and has crisp checkering and minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
