Manufactured in 1864. Deep floral scroll engraving is on the barrel, loading lever, frame, cylinder flats, trigger guard bow and back strap. The sides of the hammer have a dog's head, scroll and shell patterns. The standard markings remain, including the patent date in one cylinder flute. All complete and partial serial numbers match. Fitted with a one piece ebony grip with a relief carved woman with a spear and eagle on a chain. Comes in a hardwood case with brown velvet lining. In the case is an eagle flask, "COLTS PATENT" marked two cavity iron bullet mold, "L" shaped screwdriver/nipple wrench, partially full Eley Bros. cap tin, two conical lead bullets and two 5 count combustible envelope cartridges.

Fine as refinished and custom embellished with 98% blue, casehardened and slightly aged darkened silver plating remaining. The grip is excellent. The engraving and markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The relined case is very good with a very slightly warped lid and some minor wear and stains on the lining. The accessories are all good or better.
