It has the "WAT" inspector's marking of Captain William Anderson Thorton, inspector of various firearms in 1840-1861 including Colt Paterson, Walker, and Dragoon revolvers and Colt revolving rifles. The plunger is marked for 35 grains, and the cap is secured by three steel screws and marked "B."

Very good with varied aged patina, some minor dents, and various mild marks and scratches. 40% of the gil remains on the cap which has crisp inspector's marks. The seams are mostly tight, but there is some minor separation on one side.
