Description:

Only around 9,000 of these Richards conversion revolvers were manufactured in 1871-1878. Charles B. Richards along with William Mason ultimately designed the legendary Colt Single Action Army revolver which is in part an improvement on their conversion designs. It has standard markings and features. The Richards range serial numbers match on the barrel, frame, grip straps, cylinder, and grip. The wedge is not numbered, and the cylinder pin is marked "2299." The loading gate is marked "2200."

Rating Definition:

Fine with 40% original blue finish overall concentrated mostly in the protected areas of the barrel, 25% of the subtle case colors, brighter case colors on the hammer and rear section of the frame, gray and brown patina and minor oxidation/pitting on the balance, 20% of the original silver on the trigger guard, and aged patina on the brass and silver. The grip is fine and has strong varnish finish, moderate edge wear including some small chips, and light scratches. Mechanically excellent.
