Description:

Manufactured in 1892. The Colt Single Action Army Flattop revolver is one of the most highly sought after models by Colt collectors. Colt only produced 925 Flat Top Target Model revolvers between 1888 and 1896 in the serial number range between 127,000 and 162,000, and of those, only 39 were chambered in 38 S&W, making this configuration very rare. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line address, "38 S&W" is on the left side, and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers and the loading gate is numbered "16". Pinned blade front sight and dovetailed fixed rear sight. All blue finish, oval shaped ejector rod head and fitted with fancy checkered walnut grips. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 to S.B. Hoyt & Sons, address unavailable and shipment date "Illegible". Remarks state that they "can only advise that subject revolver was shipped from the factory at the end of September or early October of 1892."

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally restored with 98% blue finish remaining, showing some minor muzzle wear and only light handling marks. The grips are excellent with very crisp checkering. Crisp markings and excellent action.
