Description:

Features standard sights, socket bayonet, matching serial numbers, "19" by the serial number on the receiver, "1870" dated breech, "1863" dated lock, no sling swivels or provisions for them, "ESA" cartouche, and "26" and "A" stamps on the butt with white fill. Bayonet has number "4" at socket as well as "56" acid etched in the blood groove.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with 40% of the original dark case colors, gray-brown silvered out case colors on the lock plate, fairly bright remaining metal surfaces with some light spotting and minor marks, light dings and scratches in the fine wood, chipping along the ramrod channel, a distinct cartouche, and strong oil finish. Mechanically excellent. They bayonet is very good.
