Description:

Springfield Krags with serial numbers above 480000 are all believed to be replacement actions according to the Springfield Research Service. They also indicate that this action was manufactured around 1904. The stock is has a "JSA/1901" cartouche on the left and "46" ahead of the circled script "P" behind the trigger guard. The other markings and features are standard. No records exist to document carbines being made this late in production.

Rating Definition:

Fine as rebuilt. 60% plus of the arsenal blue finish and dark case colors remain. The bolt has gray patina forming, mostly on the handle, and some minor spotting and marks. The wood has only some minor marks and scratches consistent with handling and storage. Mechanically excellent.
