Description:

Only a few hundred of the Long Range Creedmoor rifles are believed to have been manufactured in 1873-1890. They are considered by many collectors to be among the finest firearms ever manufactured by Remington and were specifically built for long range target shooting. This example features an adjustable globe front sight (insert absent), long range Vernier peep sight with second mounting spot on the heel, standard E. Remington & Sons address, "44 S" on the bottom of the barrel, matching serial numbers, smooth forearm with steel tip, and a checkered pistol grip buttstock with ebony grip insert and a smooth steel shotgun buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good with a dark blend of faded original blue finish and dark patina, lighter gray patina at the edges, minor oxidation, and scattered minor marks on the barrel. The breech and hammer retain strong original blue. The remaining components retain faint case colors and mottled gray and brown patina. The refinished wood is also very good with mild scrapes and dings crisp checkering, and a chip on the bottom right side of the grip. Mechanically excellent.
