One of only 153 manufacture in November 1878 to October 1880. Marked with the "Old Reliable" banner and "SHARPS RIFLE CO. BRIDGEPORT. CONN." on top of the barrel, "22-3000 R2/C.C. JOHNSON/THACKERY.O." on the upper left flat, the original caliber designation "CAL. 40 2 1/2" on the left flat, the standard three line patent and address on the left side of the action, and "C.C. JOHNSON," "18273," "39105," "22-3000 14," and script "L/L/L" on the bottom of the barrel. It is equipped with a Malcolm scope, taps through the "Old Reliable" marking, a rear dovetail filler block, integral peep sight base, double set triggers, sling swivels, checkered schnabel forend, multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with curl at the tip of the grip, and checkered hard rubber shotgun style buttplate with the Sharps Rifle Co. emblem embossed near the middle.

Very good as custom rechambered/relined with 70% blue finish, 20% case colors, some minor edge wear and spotting, and general marks and scratches. The wood is fine and has a small sliver absent along the left edge of the forend, fairly crisp checkering, mild hairline cracks in the upper wrist, and general scratches and dings. Mechanically need work as the lever does not stay up. The optics are excellent.
