Description:

Manufactured around July 1926 ("7/26" proof date). The barrel has standard proofs, ramp base and flared quarter rib section for sight mounting, and "C.G. HAENEL, SUHL" on top at the breech. The receiver has "HAENEL-ORIGINAL-AYDT" on top and a diopter original Aydt style rear sight in the integral base. Matching numbers are found on several components. The Schnabel forearm has silver wedges shields and some prior owner information on the inside, and the Tyrolean buttstock has a single hook Swiss buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good to very fine with 90% original blue finish on the barrel, 80% vivid original case colors on the action, and brown patina on the balance along with some light spotting. The wood is fine as repaired and has chips in the forend, the wedge absent, numerous dings including some larger dents, light scratches, a sanded thumb rest, and epoxy repair in the wrist. Mechanically excellent.
