Model 70 author Dean Whitaker has noted that of the approximately 135,000 units manufactured during the first thirteen years of Model 70 production, .250-3000 Savage chambered variations make up an "extremely small percentage." Standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on the barrel and receiver and "-SUPER GRADE-" on the floor plate, hooded ramp front sight, filler block in the rear sight dovetail slot, Lyman receiver sight (stock cut-out), polished bolt numbered to gun, cloverleaf receiver tang, transition safety and Super Grade straight comb stock with hard rubber factory grip cap, quick release sling swivels and checkered steel buttplate.

Fine. The rifle retains nearly 97% refinished blue finish showing some minor handling marks and some minor high edge wear. The stock is also fine showing some minor handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
