Manufactured in 1892. Single bead sight on the matte rib marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. TWIST". 2 5/8 inch chambers with a single extractor and improved modified/improved modified chokes. Standard markings on the receiver with light zig-zag border engraving on the lock plates, and a hooked break lever. Checkered splinter forearm and buttstock with a checkered hard rubber grip cap, silver initial shield on top of the wrist, and Parker Brothers dogs head buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .735/.740 inch; minimum wall thickness .035/.032 inch; drop at comb 2 inches; drop at heel 2 3/4 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches. The included letter from the Parker Collectors Association based on the factory records indicates the shotgun was ordered by E.C. Meachum Arms Company of St. Louis on December 21, 1892, and shipped on March 29, 1893. It is listed as a "Quality 0 Top Action hammer, 12 gauge" and "featured Plain Twist steel barrels with a length of 32 inches. Its stock configuration was a capped pistol grip. The chokes were patterned RH (170 # 8 pellets in a 24" circle at 45 yards) and LH (170 # 8 pellets in a 24" circle at 45 yards)." The specifications confirm the drop at heel and length of pull listed above and note that the weight was 8 lbs. 5 oz.

Fine as refinished. The barrels have an overall slate gray patina with scattered areas of visible light pitting. The receiver and locks have a mostly silver/brown patina with traces of original case colors in the protected areas and crisp markings. The wood is fine with well-defined checkering and scattered small nicks and dings throughout. Mechanically excellent.
