The barrel rib is marked "F.W. KESSLER, SUHL," standard Nazi era commercial proofs on the flats "FWK" monogram on the lug, and matching numbers. Expertly game scene engraved receiver and side plates, dual triggers, Greener style side safety, and tang mounted selector switch. Checkered forend and stock with raised cheekpiece and serrated horn buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .667/.667 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .032/.032 inch 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 13 3/4 inch length of pull.

Fine with 85% original blue finish, areas of mild edge and high point wear, surface scratches, and small handling marks overall. The engraving is sharp and distinct. The refinished wood is fine with small dents scattered throughout and a freshened coat of varnish. Mechanically excellent.
