Standard pre-war German commercial proofs, the interior forearm metal inscribed "C4" and "DIANA," round body receiver with full coverage floral and scroll engraving, oak leaf and acorn accent panels and detailed game scenes, Collath butterfly safety, horn break lever and sculpted horn trigger guard, and checkered buttstock with a raised cheekpiece and ebony buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .669/.670 inch; minimum wall thickness .027/.030; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 13 3/4 inch length of pull.

Fine. The refinished barrels have 65% of the thinning blue finish, some traces of light pitting, surface scratches, and mild edge wear. The receiver engraving is sharp with some mild spotting and an overall smooth gray patina. The forearm is chipped along the upper left edge, and the buttstock has small dents throughout, surface scratches, sharp checkering, and some minor chips on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
