Manufactured in 1928. Standard markings and features and fitted with optional deluxe checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions and lanyard ring on the butt. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish, checkered wood grips and that it was shipped in a 1 gun shipment to the J.B. Varick Company in Manchester, New Hampshire on April 30, 1928. It is not known whether the factory order number noted in the letter refers to the deluxe grade grips or to the unusually tall front sight blade. Included is a hinged lid, dark maroon box faintly numbered, but appears to be matching the gun. Also includes manual and cleaning rod.

Excellent with 97% original blue finish remaining, showing a bit light aging on the frame and grip straps. The grips are also excellent with minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The roll markings remain sharp. The action is excellent. The box is good with some minor wear.
