Manufactured in 1896. Fixed sights, with the three line address and patent markings on top of the barrel, "COLT. D.A.41" on the left, the circled Rampant Colt on the frame and matching "456" assembly numbers on the knurled cylinder latch, frame interior and crane. A fine niter blue finish is present on the trigger and along the top of the hammer, with a pair of checkered "COLT" grips. Included with the revolver is a renumbered to match Colt "black box" with New Navy picture label on the lid, a black on blue end label for a 41 caliber New Navy with rubber grips and a 4 1/2 inch barrel, and an Ideal loading tool advertising label on the interior.

Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina on the grip straps, brown on the cylinder and barrel, scattered spotting, and mild edge wear and handling marks. The replacement grips have mixed numbers, though are a good fit to the revolver with a few minor dings on the otherwise crisp checkering. The box shows wear along the edges, with some staining and water spots on the faded but mostly legible lid label. Mechanically very good.
