Manufactured in 1914. Standard two line address and 1884, 1900, and 1905 patent dates on top of the barrel and "NEW SERVICE 455 ELEY" on the left side. The frame is marked with the Rampant Colt, verified proof, and "3" inspector's mark on the left side and has a checkered hammer with polished sides and smooth trigger. Fitted with checkered grips with "COLT" in an oval at the top and a lanyard swivel on the butt. A partial matching serial number is visible on the inside of each grip panel. No British proofs are on this .455 Eley caliber, thus making this revolver scarce.

Excellent with 95% plus bright original high polish blue finish, some muzzle wear, and some edge wear on the front and rear of cylinder. The grips are also excellent with very crisp checkering. Crisp markings. Excellent action. This is most likely one of the finest .455 Eley Colt New Service revolvers we have ever offered.
