DescriptionManufactured in 1924 and shipped to Wolf & Klar noted Colt dealer and engraver. Wolf & Klar style simple zigzag style engraving in floral, vine and simple patterns on the barrel, cylinder, frame, back strap and trigger guard bow. The one line address is marked on top of the barrel, "45 COLT" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Matching numbers, all nickel finish and fitted with a smooth pearl grip on the left side and a relief carved steer head with ruby red eyes on the right side. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, nickel finish, the grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 5 to Wolf & Klar in Fort Worth, Texas on October 17, 1924.

ConditionVery fine with 95% original nickel finish remaining, showing some muzzle wear, some minor flaking on the front edge of the cylinder and some finish loss in the engraving. The grips are a bit ill-fitting and remain good with a large chip on the right heel, a small chip on the left heel and toe and a chip on the upper left panel. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.

DescriptionManufactured in 1923. Similar Wolf & Klar style simple zigzag patterned engraving as "A". Two line address on top of the barrel, "45COLT" on the left side and standard patent marking and Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Matching numbers, all nickel finish and fitted with a smooth pearl grip on the left side and a relief carved steers head on the right side. The accompanying letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, nickel finish, grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 3 to Wolf & Klar in Fort Worth, Texas on January 31, 1923.

ConditionVery fine with 98% original nickel finish remaining showing some muzzle wear and some loss of finish in the engraving. The grips are a bit undersized and remain fine with a very small nick on each toe and one of the red eyes inserts on the steer is absent. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.

Shipping

SHIPPING CHARGES. All shipping charges must be paid by the successful bidder prior to delivery of the firearm. If Rock Island Auction (RIAC) is asked to ship the purchased lots, there will be a separate charge for such shipping. Shipping charges will be based upon what it costs RIAC to ship the purchased lots to the purchaser. All items must have shipping insurance; this insurance is mandatory. RIAC will not charge any labor charges for shipping. RIAC is not liable for any acts of omissions in packaging or shipping. Purchased lots handled by outside carriers or packers, including those RIAC may have recommended, may carry their own insurance and any claims for losses or damages should be addressed directly to the outside carriers or packers. RIAC will arrange for packing and shipping at RIAC’s earliest possible convenience. RIAC will attempt to ship as soon as possible; however, due to RIAC’s high volume of absentee bids, shipping can take up to two weeks after full payment is received. In the case of crating or any exceptional packaging, the purchaser will be charged RIAC’s cost from outside agents. Purchaser pays shipping, packing materials, and insurance charges. The shipping of any purchased items outside of the United States is hereby classified as “foreign export”. All foreign export is the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
