Description:

The Model 1909 was a modified and enlarged version of the Model 1908 chambered for the 9mm Browning Long cartridge. Approximately 1,700 of these pistols were manufactured. The pistol has fine slide serrations that are only found on early examples. Based on Gordon Bruce's Webley serial number research, this pistol is the 35th Model 1909 manufactured by Webley & Scott (see page 166 in "Webley & Scott Automatic Pistols"). The slide has the "W&S" winged bullet logo followed by the three-line legend on the left side. British proofs are present. The rear sight is adjustable for windage, and both grip panels are numbered to the gun. The pistol falls into the serial number range (46300-46385) of 86 units manufactured in April 1910.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 95% original blue finish showing thinning to a gray on the grip straps and grip safety and some minor high edge wear. Mechanically excellent.
