Description:

The Model 1905 was Webley's first commercial semi-automatic pistol, and its overall design and ergonomics would influence many of the firm's full sized and pocket model handguns. This pistol was part of the first production run (serial numbers 1-7059) in June 1906. These early pistols had the tempered blue finish, long extractor (1.75 inches), thick hammer (.42 inches), visible trigger bar, adjustable rear sight, lever magazine catch and hook trigger, all features found on this pistol. It is fitted with a trigger bar safety. Early in the series customers had a choice between either a hammer safety or bar safety, and this option was available up to serial number 3500. The slide properly lacks serrations and is marked with the "W&S" winged bullet logo followed by the three-line legend on the left side. Note the use of a stop pin on the trigger to block removal of the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The grips are fine with a couple small missing chips, a repaired right panel and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
