This is a very fine example of a early 1943 dated WWII British Enfield No. 4 MK 1(T) sniper rifle with an original WWII type No. 32 MKIII scope and mount. These rifles were developed in the late 1930s and were the standard WWII British sniper rifle used until the early 1960s. The receiver is marked "No. 4 Mk. I/T", and the socket is marked "M47/1943/A4441/TR/F.T.R.". The rifle is fitted with a blade front sight. It has the wartime semi-pistol grip stock that is fitted with a walnut buttstock, and two top handguards. The top of the comb on the buttstock is fitted with an original cheekpiece held on with two wood screws. The front underside of the forend is stamped with the matching serial number "A4441" and it and the buttstock have the correct British acceptance proofs however the buttstock lacks the "S51" stamping, indicating it was probably replaced during the FTR rebuild process. It is currently fitted with a No. 32 MKIII sniper scope that is marked "TEL. SIG/No.32 Mk.III/O.S. 2039A/AK &S No 28173/1945" and it is also marked with a red "W" and blue "B" on top. It has a post and crosshair reticle pattern. The front of the mount has a "N92" maker's mark and the side of the mount is stamped with two lined out serial numbers and the correct renumbered rifle serial number "A4441", obviously also refitted during the FTR process. The scope rings are stamped on the top and bottom half, respectively "P203" and "P204". This sniper rifle is complete with one original box magazine, a WWI era leather sling stamped "DUNCAN & SONS/SEATTLE/A.K.S".

Very fine as arsenal refurbished with 97% of its black painted finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear. The wood components are all in very fine condition with a nice dark brown matching walnut color overall with only minor handling marks with an arsenal/field repair on the top rear edge of the buttstock. The scope and mount retain 95% plus of their black finish with clear sharp markings. The optics are clear and sharp with an intact reticle. The windage and elevation knobs are a little stiff however they do turn and move the reticle correctly.
